Block Party

Its kind of strange that the very first time we've lived on base, we got blessed with a new house. The cool part is that unlike other "move on base" situations, all of our neighbors have moved into their houses in the last year, as well, starting in February, although the majority of folks moved in over the summer. It reminds me of college, all of us thrown into together...well, except most of us have kids! Anyway, last Saturday, after the Twins BBQ, we headed to a neighborhood block party. There was a bouncy castle, tons of food, a movie for the kids at nightfall, ice cream, and the chance to get to know the people in our neighborhood. It was a lot of fun and we stayed up late into the night chatting and letting the kids tire themselves out completely. I'm bummed I kept misplacing the camera and didn't take many pics, but here are a couple of the twins on the walk over. This is in front of our house. Our yard backs up to a national park, so we don't have houses behind us, but there's a few "common" areas and this is where the picnic was held, a huge yard/common area with houses surrounding it. Tyler, Trenton (brothers) and Nolan chowing on ice cream. Trenton and Nolan will be in the same preschool class starting next week.
